I sent home an information sheet about TIMSS on Friday. This is a random selection of fourth grade classes, Mr. Shirley and I were chosen in our district. The test focuses on math and science. Our students will be testing on April 11th.
Make sure that your scholar is working on their book report. The book report isn't due until April 23rd, but may be turned in early.
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - Spelling test this week. New words will be coming home on Wednesday. We have been working in CKLA unit 6, Geology, scholars have been writing about volcanoes, and will be writing a personification story about one of the three types of rocks.
- Math - We will finish 10.7 and will test on Monday. Scholars have done really well with Geometry. :) Tuesday we will go over Chapter 10 test and have an introduction to Chapter 11, which is on ANGLES. Wednesday's lesson 11.1, angles and fractional parts of a circle. Thursday's lesson 11.2, degrees. Friday's lesson 11.3, measure and draw angles.
- Science - We will continue with our study of the rock cycle and move onto studying soil by the end of the week.
