Mrs. Komarek's Busy Bees: April 22

Dear Parents,
Welcome Back! I hope that you all enjoyed your week off of school.

I'd like to congratulate Jaylin, she broke the school record for fastest mile at South Elementary! She ran a 6.06 minute mile!

This will be the last week of library with the exception of Battle Books, we will be having one more book report to have one final book reading of battle books. Information will be coming home Wednesday.

Curriculum News:

Literacy - New words will be coming home on Tuesday, along with the words scholars will be having an activity that will be due the same day that we test on (5/2). We will be starting Treasure Island again and will continue with that until the end of the year.
Math - We have started Chapter 12, which is on Relative Sizes of Measurement. Monday's lesson 12.2 and 12.3, customary units of length and weight. Tuesday's lesson 12.4 and 12.5, customary units of liquid volume and line plots. Wednesday's lesson 12.6 and 12.7 metric units of length, mass, and liquid volume. Thursday's lesson 12. 8 and 12.9, units of time and elapsed time. Friday's lesson 12.10 and 12.11, mixed measures and patterns in measurement units.
Science - We will finish our SOILS study on Wednesday, Thursday we will start our last science unit, FOSSILS!

April 22, We will walking to SUU for the Bard's Bash, we will be back in time for lunch.

April 23, Last day of Reading Intervention groups, we will still be doing groups in my class.
April 25, Reading Celebration, thank you to our fabulous PTA!
April 26, Our last day of Science Lab with Mrs. Wittwer. Thank you again to our wonderful PTA and parents who have supported our Science Lab!
