Mrs. Komarek's Busy Bees: April 8

Welcome to a new week of learning! Can you believe that we have one more week until our Spring Break? Just a reminder that Book Reports are due April 23rd and I will be sending home progress reports later this week as well.

Curriculum News:

Literacy - We are still reading in our CKLA Geology reader, such an interesting unit! We will finish this week, when we return from Spring Break we will continue with our Treasure Island unit. Scholars are writing a descriptive paragraph about a type of rock. New Word Study Patterns went home on Friday, we will have a test this Friday.
Math - We will finish 11.3, measuring angles and complete 11.4, join and separate angles. Tuesday mid chapter review. Wednesday we will be having our Math Fact Celebration. Thursday 11.5, problem solving with unknown angle measures. Friday we will test on Chapter 11.
Science - We started our study on SOIL, scholars will be investigating soil and learning about the different kinds of dirt. :)

April 11, TIMSS Testing, our class will be testing at 9:00 am. I sent home another letter with information on TIMSS on Friday. Please contact me or Mr. Oldroyd if you have any questions.
April 15 - 19, Spring Break
April 22, Bard's Bash, we will be walking to SUU to participate in this celebration
April 23, Book Report Due
April 25, Reading Celebration, thank you to our incredible PTA!
