Welcome to a new week of learning! I hope that you all had a lovely weekend with your loved ones. Progress reports will be coming home this week along with SEP appointments for the first week of February.
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - New spelling pattern words will be coming home today. Scholars need to pass off their spelling patterns with at least an 9/12 score to move to the next pattern. We are still working on our poetry unit. Scholars are reading, studying, and writing poetry.
- Math - Tuesday's lesson 7.5, add and subtract fractions. Wednesday will be a review for the concepts taught in this chapter so far. Thursday's lesson 7.6, renaming (improper fractions) fractions and mixed numbers. Friday's lesson 7.7, add and subtract mixed numbers, this lesson will be a bit more difficult because there are multiple steps to work through.
- Science - Notes from Ms. Soriano about our Weather Unit: Last week we learned about the 4 main types of clouds, covered the 5 layers of the atmosphere (and created a super fun acronym to remember the order of the layers!), got introduced to severe weather events, and got introduced to some meteorologist tools that we will be using to track weather this week! It's been so exciting learning about weather when weather changes are happening around us!
