Welcome Back to School and to 2020!!❄
Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a lovely two weeks with family and friends.  Thank you so much for the thoughtful gifts!


We are starting 2020 off with a bang and picking up where we left off.  Today is the start of 3rd term.

New book report form will be coming home this week.  This will be for a Battle of the Books book.  It will be due February 4th.

I'd like to welcome a new classmate, Aydri Barnes.  We are excited to have her join our class!

Curriculum News:
  • Literacy - New word study words will be coming home this week.  A spelling test will be on January 17th.  We are starting a new unit in CKLA.  Unit 7, the American Revolution.
  • Math - We will be picking up where we left off before the Winter Break and start with reviewing equivalent fractions and fractions in simplest form.  Tuesday we will do lesson 6.6 and compare fractions.  Wednesday's lesson 6.7 will be more comparing.  Thursday's lesson 6.7 will be compare and order fractions.  Friday we will review again and prepare to test on this concept the following week.
  • Science - Before the break we were learning all about the water cycle.  We will review on Monday.  On Tuesday we will start our next science unit, WEATHER.  We will be learning about the different types of clouds.

  • January 23, Celebrate Luke's 1/2 Birthday! πŸŽ‚
  • January 29, I will be at a training for half of the day.
  • February 3-7. SEP Week, school will be out at 2:30 each day.
  • February 4, Book Report Due
Home Extension:
  • Nightly reading and summary writing. 
  • If we have math videos, I will post them on DOJO.
