This week we hit the half way mark in our school year! It just seems like time is going by quickly with these hardworking, cute scholars!
Over half the class has passed off the poem, which is great! I know that I put Friday as the last day to pass off, but to be honest, that is a very hectic day. Please encourage your scholar to pass it off before Friday.
Friday we will be having a celebration for the hard work of memorizing the poem, we will be having a hot cocoa party. Some of the scholars have volunteered to bring in items for our party. Here is a list of what has been suggested.
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - This week we will finish Unit 4 of CKLA and will wrap up any unfinished writing projects that we have been working on. We will finish the week with grammar practice, DIBELS testing, and an assessment on informational reading.
- Math - Scholars did quite well on Chapter 5. We went over the test and graphed scores last week. This week we will be working in Chapter 6, FRACTIONS. Monday's lesson 6.2, equivalent fractions. Tuesday's lesson 6.3, simplest form. Wednesday's lesson 6.4, common denominators. Thursday, no lesson. Friday's lesson 6.5, problem solving. Over the break I just ask that in any free time to please practice times tables.
- Science - We are learning all about the Water Cycle! This week we will focus on condensation, precipitation, and collection.
