It's nice to be back after our wonderful Thanksgiving Break.
Last Tuesday I introduced our new December "Book Report". I sent home the rubrics of how it will be graded and the poem to be memorized. All poems will need to be passed off to me by December 20th (the last day before Christmas Break). We will work on this in class, but the majority of work will need to be done at home.
Progress Reports, new Word Study words, and a Reading Log will be coming home today. Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the Reading Log, it will be due on Friday, 80 minutes minimum for the week.
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - New word study words are going home, test will be in two weeks. During literacy time we will be working on T'was the Night Before Christmas and Unit 4, Middle Ages of the Middle East, and grammar practice.
- Math - Monday's (12/2) lesson: 5.2 divisibility rules. Tuesday's (12/3) lesson: 5.3 factors. Wednesday's (12/4) lesson: Mid Chapter Review. Thursday's (12/5) lesson: 5.4 multiples. Friday's (12/6) lesson: 5.5 prime and composite numbers. Monday's (12/9) lesson: 5.6 patterns. Tuesday's (12/10) lesson: Chapter 5 review. Wednesday's (12/11) lesson: Chapter 5 Test or 4.AO.4. Thursday's (12/12) lesson: graph chapter 5 test, go over test, introduction to chapter 6. Friday's (12/13) lesson: 6.1 fractions.
- Science - Scholars will finish up Standard 5 with Mammals. After mammals we will start Standard 1, the Water Cycle.
