I will be sending home a book report on Thursday. It needs to be a Battle of the Books book, the directions and materials will all be together. It will be due April 23rd (the week after spring break).
I sent home 3rd quarter progress reports on Friday. We are in our last quarter!
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - We are reading Treasure Island, scholars will soon begin rough drafting their first-person narrative, and grammar.
- Math - Monday we will go over Chapter 9 test and introduction to Chapter 10. Chapter 10 focuses on two-dimensional figures. Tuesday's lesson 10.1, lines, rays, and angles. Wednesday's lesson 10.2, classify triangles by angles. Thursday's lesson 10.3, parallel and perpendicular lines. Friday's lesson 10.4, classify quadrilaterals. Scholars may practice "Xtra Math" at home to help pass off math facts for our Math Fact Celebration on April 5th.
- Science - We have been reading about earthquakes and tsunamis, volcanoes, myths about volcanoes writing a brochure about tsunamis, and writing a wiki entry about the different types of volcanoes.
