Dear Parents,

 Welcome back from our four day break!  I am hoping that we recovered from any sickness that was going around and that we enjoyed the time off.

This is it, the last term of the year, I can't quite believe that we are on the down side of school and before we know it, our 4th graders will be 5th graders!   Progress Reports for third term will be coming home this week by Friday, this report does not need to come back, it is for your records.

 The Talent Show on Friday was amazing!  




Curriculum News:
  • Literacy - We are working on Treasure Island, which is a narrative in first person.  Scholars will be writing their own narrative in first person as we work our way through this unit.  The spelling test will be next week.
  • Math - Wednesday's lesson 9.7, comparing decimals.  Thursday we will review and Friday we will test on Chapter 9, relations between fractions and decimals.  If you notice in the "Important Dates"  our class Smart Minds Calculator will be this Friday.  This is a timed math fact competition.
  • Science -  We are working on the Geology unit of CKLA along with our Rock Unit.  Scholars will be reading, writing, researching about the earth as we work towards learning about Rocks!  Pictured are the edible layers of the earth that the scholars made.
