Hello and welcome to a new month of learning!
I assigned a new book report last week, scholars are to read a battle book, pick a character and write a letter to the class from the characters perspective. All the directions went home last week.
Our field trip to Frontier Homestead State Park was a great learning experience and a beautiful day!
Red Ribbon Week! Running Achievement, Police Dog Assembly, Reading Lunch Club and Halloween!
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - New Word Study words went home on Thursday and the next test will be November 15th. Scholars also have an activity to do with their words, they have two weeks to complete the assignment during Daily 5 time. We are still in Unit 2 of CKLA, the Middle Ages. Our next writing assignment will be an informational essay on a person from the Middle Ages.
- Math - We finished Chapter 3, we will be graphing the test in Data Binders, taking a 10 question quiz for NBT.5, graphing that and starting Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is on Division. Scholars will be learning more than one strategy to solve a division problem and we will be encouraging the scholars to pick the strategy that works best for them. Again, knowing times tables helps so much! Please continue to practice at home.
