Thank you all so much for coming in during SEP week! It's a crazy busy week, but so good to go over your scholar's progress. I am excited to the growth that each of them will make this school year.
I am pleased to announce that we have the opportunity to have a student teacher with us for the next 8 weeks! Mrs. Chrystal Calandrino has worked at South Elementary in the past as a Paraprofessional. We are very fortunate to have her in our class for the next two months!
Permission Slips for our next field trip will be coming home today. We are going to Snow Canyon State Park on October 17th.
Curriculum News:
- Literacy - Scholars have new word study words, the next text will be Oct. 16th. They have two weeks to complete the written activity that was assigned on Oct. 1st. We have finished Unit 1, personal narratives, of our CKLA. To wrap the unit up scholars have written a dinner time narrative. Our next unit is The Middle Ages.
- Math - As we talked about during SEP's scholars are working at their own pace in chapter 2. Some are almost ready to test. Depending on how they do the test will determine if I will continue with this path or go back to my traditional way of teaching math.
- Science - During our science time scholars will be doing a research project on an endangered animal of Utah with a partner. We will also begin our in-depth study on reptiles and amphibians!
